Sssnake

Well, not really, but Nolan thought it was. While we were planting some flowers we saw some worms. Nolan was sure that they were snakes. He was even talking about them a few hours after we went inside.

Bath Time

I am starting to realize that either loves to be naked or really likes getting ready for bed. Every night I get her undressed, wipe her down, slather her with lotion, and dress her for bed. Prior to this, we deal with about an hour or two of a pretty fussy baby. As soon as her clothes come off, she is as happy as can be.
Well, a few nights ago she got her first bath. She didn't like that as much. It could have been because it took way too long (of course, we had to take pictures). But, as soon as she got out, she was her happy self again. Nolan loved watching her get a bath. He gave her a ton of kisses.

She's growing so fast!

We had Lillian's 2 week doctor appointment yesterday. She now weighs 7lbs 9.5 oz and 20 3/4 inches long. Doctor says she looks perfect. We are having a bit of difficulty with her umbilical cord though. Some of it was still left when it fell off. So it was gross and gooey looking. The doctor put some stuff on it to make it heal, but so far it still is pretty gross looking. Overall, she is still my perfect little girl!

Handy Man Nolan

Nolan got a tool kit from Lily when she came home from the hospital. He loved it. It amazing me how smart he is. We didn't have to show him how to use any of the tools, he just knew.

Sweet baby Nolan

My sweet baby boy, he has taught me so much. I feel like I am such a better person because of him. The first six months that I had with Nolan were a real struggle. He taught me how to be patient. I remember praying about 10 times a day for the patience to go on. He cried so much, it got to the point that I crying right there along with him. But, as I begin to care for not just him but also Lily, I feel so different. I wonder what she will be like (especially days when she doesn't want to be put down). But then I just look at Nolan and realize that it is all worth it. He is so much fun to be around. I love every minute that I get to be with him. I am so thankful for my baby boy and so glad that I have been blessed to be his mother.

At least she's consistent :)

Lily goes to bed around 8 or 8:30 and the past three nights has slept about four or five hours. I wake up around the 4 hour mark just waiting for her to wake up. After this she sleeps good until about 4 or 4:30. She will not fall back asleep after this. She wants to, but she cannot. If she does, it is only for about 30 minutes. I try to nurse her back to sleep, nope that doesn't work... I try to rock her back to sleep, nope... The only thing that has been working (which last night this didn't work until close to 7:00) is to bring her to bed with me. I know they say that you cannot spoil them at this age, but she is SPOILED! :)

Her story!! :)

4/6/09
I had a doctor appointment at 9:20 and I was dilated to 3 almost 4. The doctor stripped my membranes (which was no fun at all). She said that I would most likely have her in the next day or so. After the appointment I went home and started doing all the last minute things that I thought needed finished.
Around 11:00 I started having very sporadic contractions that ranged from 3 to 7 minutes apart. At 12:30 or so I called Tyler and asked him to come home because I had a feeling she would be coming soon.
1:00 He arrived home 1:45 Evelyn arrived to watch Nolan.
2:00 At the hospital, in the triage room to be monitored. When I arrived I was still at 3 cm almost 4. At this point was having some pretty painful contractions.
3:00 I was checked again...no progress. I did not want to go home! I was in so much pain. So the doctor said that I could stay another hour, trying to walk to halls to see if that would start things along.
At 4:30 I was checked again and I was at 5 to 6. As soon as the nurse told me that I started crying because I knew that I would have some relief soon.
About 5:00 I was admitted to a room and they started setting up the iv and drawing blood. My contractions were very intense at that point. The only thing that helped was sitting up and rocking. The only problem was that they couldn't monitor Lily's heart rate. So they decided to put a monitor on her head. At about 5:30 they started doing this and broke my water. I was still at about 5 or 6.
6:00 I finally got my epidural!! I was so happy. Just waited for it to kick in, but I felt better knowing I wouldn't be in pain much longer. After the epidural was in my nurse checked me because I still felt pain/pressure. I was dilated to a 9! She said that I would be having her soon. Well, I soon as she was finished checking me I felt like I needed to push. So she checked me again and called the doctor in.
I pushed through 4 contractions and at 6:27 Miss Lillian Marie was born.
She had the cord around her neck pretty tight so they had to cut it. But, she received 9 and 9 on her Apgar test. She weighed 6lbs. 15 oz. 20 inches long.
I was able to start nursing her about 1 hour after she was born and she is a champ. She loves to eat and she is very good at it. She has been a very precious baby so far. She loves to be held, especially by mommy. :)
Nolan loves her and gives her lots of kisses.
This experience has been so different from Nolan. I am so blessed. God's plan for her birth was so perfect! I am enjoying every minute. And am loving the fact that we (all) will be out of here tomorrow!!!

Nolan's a BIG BROTHER!!

He is so precious with Lily. When he comes in the room he wants to see her and kiss her. And when he is leaving he has to give her kisses good bye. He is a sweet big brother. I am going to treasure every minute God gives me with these children!

Seriously....

Well I had a doctor's appointment today and NO PROGRESS. Can you tell I am becoming impatient. I have to keep telling myself, God's plan is greater than mine. She will come soon enough.

38 Weeks!

This week I have became very irritable and impatient. I am trying to just enjoy this time off but I keep thinking about meeting my baby. Also, I have been trying to keep the house somewhat clean, so it will be clean when I go into labor. Well, with a 20 month old that is pretty impossible. So, hopefully I can either relax or have a baby. But, I am having a April baby!! I didn't think I'd make it to April. :)
Your baby has really plumped up. She weighs about 6.8 pounds and she's over 19 1/2 inches long (like a leek). She has a firm grasp, which you'll soon be able to test when you hold her hand for the first time! Her organs have matured and are ready for life outside the womb.Wondering what color your baby's eyes will be? You may not be able to tell right away. If she's born with brown eyes, they'll likely stay brown. If she's born with steel gray or dark blue eyes, they may stay gray or blue or turn green, hazel, or brown by the time she's 9 months old. That's because a child's irises (the colored part of the eye) may gain more pigment in the months after she's born, but they usually won't get "lighter" or more blue. (Green, hazel, and brown eyes have more pigment than gray or blue eyes.)
